About the Show

The South Florida VW Club is pleased to announce Show ‘n Shine XXV, its twenty fifth show honoring Volkswagens. This year we will again be at Mills Pond Park in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, a beautiful venue amid the trees on a field of grass.  We'll also have plenty of space for tailgate activities, vendors, & clean indoor bathroom facilities.  As usual we'll have great Food, DJ/Music, Prizes, VWs, & really fun loving VW Enthusiasts.

Vista Motors of Pompano and Volkswagen of America will again sponsor our show.

As in the past All pre-registered cars will receive a commemorative plaque with a photo of their car,  in addition to a Show 'n Shine T-shirt or tote bag.

The special charity of Show 'n Shine XXV, Ronald McDonald House, provides a "home-away-from-home" for families of seriously ill children who are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

  Display/Judging

Show cars must be in place by 11:00 to be judged. Cars entering the grounds thereafter will be for display only.

After your car is registered, please park in your assigned space where your car will be photographed. Keep your car and display within the designated space. No tow cars nor trailers will be permitted on the show field. If your engine doesn't run, have enough help to push your car smartly into position.

Show cars may display two 3 inch by 5 inch "For Sale" signs if desired. Larger "For Sale" signs are prohibited.

Each car will be judged on its exterior, interior, trunk, engine and undercarriage preparation. Safety items, such as seat belts (if appropriate), glass condition and a fire extinguisher will also be evaluated.

Any part of the car (such as the trunk) not open and visible for inspection will get zero points. Convertibles must have the top up for inspection, or get zero points for the condition of the top.

Your sponsoring Club will have independent judges for Show 'n Shine. (South Florida VW Club members cars will not compete.)

Registration

Show registration begins at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. As you enter, your car will be photographed. You will receive a numbered registration sheet to be placed on the windshield, or where visible if there is no windshield.  You will then be directed to your parking space assigned in order of arrival. 

Show car owners should pay attention to the announcements, as door prizes will be given out during the day, based upon the registration number of each show car. In other words, you do not have to buy any extra raffle tickets to win the door prizes. Just listen to the announcements and claim your prize when your car's number is called.

Please print and use our Pre-registration form to reserve your space at the show and give copies of the form to your friends and fellow VW-loving club members.

  Directions

Mills Pond Park is located at 2201 Powerline Road (NW 9th Avenue), Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Travel either North or South as appropriate, on I-95 to Exit 31, where you will go east on Oakland Park Boulevard. Turn right at the first traffic light, heading south on Powerline Road (NW 9th Avenue).  Turn right just after crossing the second small bridge, where you see signs directing you to Mills Pond Park and the registration area.   MAP
