Devon’s Golf

Devon Lawrence, a new member, was born in Devonshire, a coastal town in the southwest of England. However you wouldn't guess it by his accent, as he has lived in Florida since he was seven.

His introduction to Volkswagen AG was a present on his 25th birthday, in the form of an Audi A4. Devon really liked the Audi, and soon drove it out of the warrantee. So he traded it in for a real VW, a 2001 Golf with a 1.8 liter engine with turbo. This light car with lots of engine really moves.

Since there weren't any 4-door Golfs with turbo available locally, the dealer checked the computer, and found Devon's car in Minnesota. So Devon had to wait almost three weeks to get the car. Fortunately the car came equipped with the cold air package, which should be great for South Florida.

The exterior, not his choosing, is Hunter Green, and the interior is beige.

Devon is one of these rare people who can't drive a car with automatic transmission; his left foot keeps tramping on the brake pedal when it is time to shift. You definitely don't want to follow Devon too closely on I-95 if he is driving a car with automatic.

The registration plate under the front bumper is from a car Devon had in Holland.
